Many bright people have excellent strengths in certain areas, but have learning attributes or differences which make academics or particular areas of life difficult. In the past, it was though that a person with ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, visual or auditory processing problems, or other learning disabilities and struggles simply had to accept the situation and learn to cope and compensate, both in the present and when considering career options for the future.

But this is no longer true. Current medical research shows that learning disabilities need not be a "life sentence". Research proves that the brain has "plasticity" and that actual physical changes in the brain can be made.
