Please allow me to introduce myself.  I am Jennie Wilford, director of Victory Learning Center.  I am in the process of obtaining a Master's degree in Education, with an emphasis on Literacy.  I have been a Mom for 18 years, a volunteer in the school system for the last 14 years, and a substitute teacher for the 2008-2009 school year, as well as a preschool substitute over the years. 

Teaching and parenting have been tremendously rewarding for me. It was discouraging, however, when a child with "learning disabilities" could not seem to progress, at least not fast enough to make a significant difference in his/her life.  But for years I believed the lie that was, and still is, rampant:  Learning disabilities are permanent, so just accept them, learn to compensate for them, and make the best of what you have.  With IEP's and other accommodations, that is, at least to some extent, possible while the while the child is in a school setting.  But this attitude sets life-long limits on one's potential.  And what will happen when the child has to find a career and provide for his/her family?

These concerns were magnified when they became our personal questions related to two of our children.  After much research, networking, skepticism, and prayer, I finally discovered that underlying problems can be corrected, not just accommodated! Jill Stowell, MS Ed, owner and director of Stowell Learning Center in Diamond Bar, California, was my first mentor in this field. I am grateful for her amazing expertise and the impact her center has had on me and my children. 

I am currently certified in both PACE (Processing and Cognitive Enhancement), Master the Code, and Samonas (Spectrally Activated Music of Natural Sound) Sound Therapy, and plan to be certified in Edu-Therapeutics soon.
